16 weeks pictures, although I'm 17 weeks/1 day today

I was 16 weeks the day we got to Vegas. I felt little flutters for the 1st time October 5th and 6th (15 weeks/2 days and 15 weeks/3 days) after I ate dinner. The 1st actual kick was in the middle of the night of the 7th/8th (15 weeks/4 days). The baby kicked me so hard it woke me in my sleep!

After we got to Vegas, I felt the baby move more and more. Especially on the flight home after I ran over 2 miles. lol I felt like the baby was waving on the way to Vegas in the Boise airport. It was telling Boise, "Bye, see you in a few days." I can't remember exact times the baby moved in Vegas, except at the Peepshow. I was teasing Mike it must be a boy! He replied, "Or a girl who wants to be a Vegas dancer!" He'll regret that comment if it ever comes true. lol

Las Vegas

Mike and I just got home from Las Vegas. We went for 4 days and I did hair for my friends wedding. It was so nice to get away, but always so nice to come home. Boise is so different than big cities. Life is laid back, taxis don't honk at pedestrians, people signal in traffic, YOU DON'T FEAR FOR YOUR LIFE WHEN A TAXI DRIVES 60 MPH DOWN LAS VEGAS BLVD! IN TRAFFIC! lol
We didn't get to see as much as we planned, but we did see a lot. Time goes so fast and you think it won't take long to walk to a couple hotels, but it does! One couple we went with said they spent 15 hours walking the strip and still didn't see everything.
We stayed at Paris and our room was beautiful. We went to 2 outlet malls, (I got the cutest pink Coach purse) we toured all over the new Planet Hollywood Hotel, spending more time in it than our own hotel, we shopped in the Miracle Mile mall, we went to Peepshow with Holly Madison from the Girls Next Door. We saw the Mirage volcano. We visited the M&M Factory. We ate at Margaritaville and Dick's Last Resort. Mike got his picture taken with "Holly Madison" and a fat server at Dick's. The server at Dick's made us 'attractive' paper hats. Mine said, "I love blowing bubbles" and Mike's said, "Hi, I'm Bubbles!" They are known for embarrassing and harassing customers. All in all it was fun, except the adventure to the airport. Don't read the next part if you are easily offended! lol

Our trip back home was interesting...

We drove around for an hour and a half while the GPS told us we were going to the car rental return only to discover it was the corporate office. I waited on hold with car rental place while screaming obscenities and Mike yelling in the other ear.We finally got to the rental return 25 min before our flight took off, pushed a lady over while getting off the shuttle to the airport, ran with luggage to the airport check in 10 to 15 min before our flight took off, Mike threw our bags at the lady. We got even more pissed when extremely fat slow man went through security before us, then he realized you have to take your shoes off to go through security. I wanted to scream and would have had I had more time, "Why didn't you know to take off your shoes! Even before 9/11 you took off your shoes to go through security." We ran to the tram only to miss it, a "kind" man said there is another tram in a minute, Mike screamed "We don't have an F***ing minute!" Ran clear to the gate at the other end of the corridor. Mike is sweating and I'm barely breathing. We got to our gate at 3:54 and our flight left at 3:55! A woman sitting there said, "It looks like you guys have had a rough day, here is a drink on me." I handed mine to Mike even though I could have really used a drink at that point. Made our flight and even got our luggage, but making sure Mike never lives down he made his pregnant wife run that far, PRICELESS!

As soon as I sat down the on the plane the baby started doing flips like crazy. It probably thought, "What the hell was that about!?!" I don't run when I'm not pregnant and I shouldn't start now. :) Mike and I talked about it later and he said we probably ran over 2 miles all in all.

Thank goodness we made it home! It makes us appreciate 'boring' Idaho.

1st Fire...in September!

Two days after we had an 90 degree day, it was 50! I made Mike make a fire. I'm freezing all the time even though I should have a baby growing inside me to keep me warm. It was so nice sitting in front of the fire, with Halloween decorations on the mantle, and our toes getting toasty. Drew wants to have a fire every night now.

Mommy and Me Day

September 28th was the last really nice day of summer, so I decided to take Drew to the zoo. We had lunch in the park, went to the zoo, I even bought him a silly orange monkey that hangs from your neck, and we got ice cream on the way home. When I first told Drew we were doing something really fun, he said, "Are we going to the bank?" I laughed but realized time goes by so fast I rarely take the time to enjoy the day with him. We did everything he wanted to do and practically ran from animal to animal. We played on the slide and I let him go down over and over, even though I was ready to move on. It was a wonderful Mommy and Drew day and it makes me realize sometimes you need to stop running all your errands and spend time like a kid does, even if you feel your wasting your day going down the giraffe slide 20 times. There will always be time to go to the bank another day.

My son had his first boy/girl playing house experience at our recent Dr. appointment. They have a kitchen set up and the little girl kept calling Drew 'honey' as she pretended to make dinner. Drew acted like most men and showed off for her while she followed him around like a little puppy. It was adorable and her mom and I laughed hysterically while they played. Oh, to be little again pretending what its like to be Mom and Dad.

I was so excited to take Drew to hear the baby's heartbeat. After an hour wait trying to entertain a 4 year old, Drew was not interested at all. I took a few pictures before the Dr. came in of my "sweet" son. Do you think he could give me just one smile? Not at all. I guess this is the real Drew we all know and love.

8 weeks

12 weeks

Oh how things move so much faster the 2nd time around! I'm 13 weeks and already feel huge. I know its all for a good reason and I wasn't perfect to begin with, but GEEZ! slow down a little bit.
Mike is so sweet and always tells me how beautiful I am and calls me his "hott ass wife!" as he asks if I am okay and gets me water while I throw up my dinner. Hopefully that will end soon. I've been sick at 3 pm almost everyday on the dot and it continues until I go to bed. At least I've done okay most of the day at work. I have only ran out on 2 clients and the girls at work explain, "She's pregnant" as I run down the hallway to the restroom.

Mike has been so wonderful playing with Drew and keeping him entertained so he doesn't ask me over and over to play soccer, baseball, tag, hide and seek, etc. with him. Drew has been pretty understanding that the baby makes mommy sick and tired a lot. He gives my tummy a kiss every night and tells the baby he loves it. It is so sweet and melts my heart.

Mike and I just celebrated our 1st anniversary Sept. 12th. Mike made me fondue and it was delicious! I ate so much and immediately regretted it. I got sick, AGAIN!, but it is so nice to have such an understanding husband that let me get in my jammies and fall asleep before 10 even on our anniversary. Sorry, babe.

George Jetson and T-Rex

Drew and I were driving around Monday and Drew all of the sudden asked, "How is the baby going to come out?" UH OH! I was not prepared for this since I'm not even close to delivering. I told him very matter of fact, "I have to go to the hospital and they cut my tummy, take the baby out, and sew it back up." He asked, "Do they used a big knife?" "Well, yes, sort of," I replied. Thank goodness I have to have c-sections, I would not want to explain the other option!

Later he asked how he got in my tummy? "Did you eat me?" I quickly said yes, I ate him! I'm not ready for that conversation either. Lol

A friend of mine is pregnant and we were discussing names yesterday. She said her husband wanted to name the baby William Robert and call him 'Billy Bob.' Lol. I was telling Drew and Mike the story and we are discussing names at dinner. I asked Drew what he wanted to name the baby and he thought for a moment and said, "George Jetson." I almost fell out of my chair laughing. He also came up with 'ketchup' and 'Bicycle Maker.' I think we'd be better off with George Jetson Etcheson.

Tonight Drew and I were looking at my pregnancy week by week. I showed him this picture and told him the baby was the size of a raspberry right now. Drew looked at it for a while, then said, "Mom, are you having a baby or a dinosaur!?!" He cracks me up everyday. Oh, what little kids think of.
6 Weeks Here are some other things that are happening this week:
Leg buds are starting to look like short fins, and hands and feet have a digital plate where fingers and toes will develop. The heart and lungs are becoming more developed, as are the eyes and nostrils, intestines and appendix. By now the brain and spinal cord are growing from the neural tube.

Baby Etcheson in the Making

We just found out we are having our 2nd baby!!! I'm due in March. I haven't been to the doctor yet, but I'm guessing I'm about 5 weeks. Mike is really excited and keeps telling everyone, "My boys did good!" lol. Men and their egos.

We went back and forth for months about getting pregnant. Not only were babies making me want one, I started seeing pregnant women and being jealous. I guess that means my clock is ticking. I' m so excited to be pregnant again and promise not to complain, too much. ;)

We have talked about having a baby for months with Drew to prep him. We went to dinner months ago with my grandparents and at the end, Drew blurted out, "My mom has a baby in her belly." The look on my grandparents face was priceless. I didn't at the time, but Drew thinks everyone has a baby in their belly, including Mike and Grandma. He loves it when Mike makes the baby kick by pushing out his belly. Drew will have us do it over and over again. I wonder what he will think when he can really feel the baby moving?

I moved the crib from the garage into the house and Drew told me that he really wanted the baby to sleep with him. He said, "I'll even put all my toys in the garage so there is room." Awww...how sweet of my baby boy! I'm sure he'll think differently when its here and won't stop crying at 3 am.

So far I feel really good. I said that with Drew and about a week later I was sick for 5 months. Cross our fingers I don't get too sick and maybe if I don't that means its a girl!!! ;) Wishful thinking!
